This Privacy Policy explains how Stockfile (“we”, “us”) handles information when you install and use the Stockfile app (“the App”) on your Shopify store.

Who we are

What the App accesses

To do its job — updating your inventory quantities and product costs from supplier files you upload — the App requests access to your store’s products, inventory, and locations. It reads this data to match your supplier file against your catalogue, and writes updates only after you review and approve them.

What we store

We store only what is needed to operate the App: your store’s domain and session credentials, a record of the sync runs you perform (including before-and-after values, so you can undo a sync), and saved settings for recognising your suppliers’ file formats. We do not collect, store, or process your customers’ personal information.

What we do not do

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing. We do not access customer names, addresses, orders, or payment details.

Third-party processing

To interpret the structure of uploaded files, file contents may be processed by our AI provider (Anthropic) solely to determine how to map the file to your catalogue. Files are processed for this purpose only and are not used to train models.

Data retention and deletion

You can request deletion of your data at any time by uninstalling the App or contacting us. When you uninstall, or in response to Shopify’s mandatory data-redaction requests, we delete your store’s associated records from our systems.

Data security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and stored using industry-standard hosting and database providers.

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above reflects the latest version.
